Football doesn’t feature much by painters on canvas but here is one. It’s by Jerzy Marek and it’s part of the BBC Your Paintings website. A searchable database of pictures in public galleries or their storerooms. More to be added - it’ll be pretty brill when it is finished and out of beta. Other sports are not a big subject for artists either.
